Over the years the Portland Rescue Mission, through the Burnside Shelter, has offered hope one meal at a time, serving 333,731 meals last year alone. Because of this relentless compassion in Portland, our Burnside kitchen needs its own rescuing.

We’re asking the business community to mobilize their passion to help others and rally to Rescue the Kitchen this Summer!

Here’s how to get started!

Serving Meals, Serving Hope

Now: Set A Goal

Set a goal for your team, staff or department to raise $6K, $10K or a custom amount. If you raise $5K or more you’ll qualify to attend our VIP Rescue the Kitchen Event at the end of July. Incentivize your efforts with a corporate match.

June: Strategize

Strategize to fundraise with your team and staff on how best to mobilize and meet your goal. Get creative and give all your staff, vendors and customers an opportunity to be a rescuer. (New Seasons Markets offers an “Add-A-Meal” at various locations which their customers love and support generously).

July/August: Launch

Launch into action in July and August to implement your company’s Rescue The Kitchen fundraising efforts.

End of August: Celebrate

 Celebrate at VIP event Rescue The Kitchen…

– Top teams will be invited to the VIP Rescue the Kitchen Event at the Burnside Shelter right before construction begins.

THE TOP TEAM will receive a custom package from the Timbers for their team that will include a special visit to your office from Fanendo Adi and a special Timbers experience.

November: Ribbon Cutting

Attend the Ribbon cutting event in November when the Kitchen is complete.
