Mikole’s Story of Hope

When Mikole was just 14, she was thrust into survival mode. Her mother, struggling with addiction after a bad divorce, often left her and her little sister home alone for days. The abandonment led Mikole to leave home and dive headlong into her own addictions.

“I drank, smoked pot, did ecstasy and coke. I was living with a boyfriend who was a drug lord. We lived in a garage with no kitchen, and there were rats. I was being forced to do things I didn’t want to do. I was in hell.”

Thanks to the compassionate support of friends like you, Mikole has experienced total life change in our New Life Ministry at Shepherd’s Door. God is truly at work changing the lives of hurting people at Portland Rescue Mission. Thanks for helping make it possible.

“God has been so good,” Mikole says. “I realize that when you’re obedient and let Christ lead your life, He does amazing things for you. I’ll always be a broken person, but with Christ in my life, He makes me whole.”
