Here are some of the exciting events coming up this month at Portland Rescue Mission!

KATU Telethon: Thursday, Dec 7th 6:00am-8:00pm – Tune in to KATU news Thursday and join us in giving “Hope for the Holidays!” Listen to stories of hope and watch interviews with our New Life Recovery Program graduates in both their AM Northwest and Afternoon Live segments. The segments air from 9:00am-10:00am and 3:00pm-4:00pm, but we’ll be featured all day! We’re still looking for volunteers for the morning shift, from 5:30am to 7:00am, to answer phones! Please visit www.PortlandRescueMission.org/Phone if you’re interested in volunteering.

Holiday Volunteering Orientation & Workshops: Wed, Dec 6th & Wed, December 20th 9:00am-11:00am – Tour Burnside Shelter, learn about Portland Rescue Mission, and create care-kits for the homeless community! Families welcome. Sign-ups will be available at the workshop for those interested in volunteering further. Please email Volunteer@pdxmission.org to learn more about the orientation, and to RSVP.

Christmas Meal at Burnside – Sunday, Dec 24th 5:30pm-8:00pm – While we provide breakfast and dinner 7 days a week, and breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekends, holidays are always a special time at our Burnside Shelter. Each Christmas season, we offer a special meal to those in need in our community! This year’s Christmas meal will be held on Christmas eve.
