Dannon Partners with PDX Mission to Give Hope

drnqzcqxFor the past 74 years, Dannon has served the community by “bringing health through food to as many people as possible.” They have fed families across the globe with their top-of the line yogurt, offering close to 200 different types and flavors of fresh and frozen dairy products.

Not only has Dannon served the community through their products, but they have also partnered with Portland Rescue Mission to care for some of the most vulnerable men, women and children in the community.

This past summer, the team in Portland launched a volunteer effort to pack 2,000 care kits for the homeless. “Our neighbors facing homelessness have limited resources so we feel that any efforts to help these people in need is the right community outreach for us,” said Barbara DeBisschop, Community Engagement Manager.

This winter, we are honored to have Dannon as a sponsor for our annual telethons. “Portland Rescue Mission offers true support to our neighbors in need. Dannon Portland is grateful for the partnership where we can support those efforts,” said Barbara.

Thanks to the support of Dannon, men and women in need of warm shelter and nutritious meals, are finding hope for the first time.

“Without food, if feels like you’re going to die, and there’s no hope. I knew when I came in the Mission that I was safe for the first time in my life.”

-Fiona, Guest at Portland Rescue Mission

“When I came for a meal, I was treated with respect, like a human being. It’s amazing what that little bit can do for people.”

-Jeff, Guest at Portland Rescue Mission.

A little bit can go a long way, and Dannon has gone above and beyond to ensure that the community of Portland is well taken care of. We are grateful and excited to partner with Dannon in giving hope and restoring life to the Portland community.

Make sure to watch KATU NEWS on Thursday, December 8th, for our Hope for the Holidays Telethon. Join us this winter in giving warmth and hope to Portland’s Homeless.
