Friend, This weekend is the annual “Hunger Match” at New Seasons!
This is an easy opportunity to turn your grocery shopping into a way to help those in our community who are hungry and facing homelessness.
As you do your grocery shopping, come to one of the three participating New Seasons locations (Seven Corners, Sellwood and Concordia) on May 20-21st and “Add a Meal” for a $1.60. For every meal added, New Seasons will match up to $1,000 at each of the three stores—each meal providing the first step to a second chance for men and women suffering from homelessness and addiction right here in the Portland area.
In past years the “Add A Meal” program as provided over 25,000 meals and care to our guests at the Burnside Shelter!
“When we opened our first New Seasons Market store in 2000, we knew that we wanted to partner with community organizations that supported neighborhoods where we had stores,” said Community Relations Manager, Claudia Knotek.
“Portland Rescue Mission’s valuable work in the community aligns with our charitable giving goals to eradicate hunger.”
You can “Add A Meal” for Portland Rescue Mission any time you shop at one of these New Seasons locations, but on this weekend alone, your generosity will go twice as far thanks to the generosity of New Seasons in matching each donation.
