Toddlers
Our Toddler classroom (two and three year olds), is one full of activity. Toddlers like choices and this room is filled with them, each child gets to choose their activities throughout the day. Classroom Teachers cater play, art and group time activities to the interests of each child. Children learn colors, shapes, counting, fine motor skills like coloring, cutting, and building, as well as social skills, working together and how to be safe with their body and words. Each day involves free play time, art and sensory play, group time, reading, snack and outside play.
Afternoons are for resting and quiet reading or puzzle activities. We maintain a five to one child/teacher ratio in this classroom with regular volunteers who lower the ratio even more. The environment is tailor made for this age with low sinks and toilets, tables and chairs they can access on their own, windows with low sills for easy viewing and individual cubbies for each child to keep their own personal treasures.
