Girl Scouts Provide Gardens At Shepherd’s Door

Three local Girl Scouts are helping homeless women and children discover the joy of gardening.  Rachel W., Rachel N. and Kelly C. have built four raised garden beds and an herb garden at Shepherd’s Door, the women and children’s recovery ministry of Portland Rescue Mission.

With the help of a master gardener, the girls will research and plan the gardens, then train the residents of Shepherd’s Door to care for the various plants.  Thanks to the generous donation of high quality gardening soil from SunPro, these gardens will be a wonderful source of food, comfort, accomplishment and teamwork for many years to come.

Our heartfelt thanks to these generous Girl Scouts and SunPro!
