Don Rasmussen Company Contributes to Portland Community Needs
Portland, Ore. - June 15, 2008

Don Rasmussen Company is helping the community by supporting Shepherd's Door, the Women and Children's Division of Portland Rescue Mission. Since 2001, the company has committed to donate $25 per vehicle sold at all of its locations to support Shepherd's Door.

"We take great pride in being part of this community and are always looking for ways to give back and help make a difference," says Greg Rasmussen, of Don Rasmussen Company. "You don't have to look very far to find a way to help out. With this initiative, we are able to help and reach out to help hurting people in our community."

Portland Rescue Mission works to break the generational cycle of homelessness and to provide a path to generational healing. All of the women in the Shepherd's Door program and many of the children have experienced childhood abuse or trauma. The long-term recovery program is individualized to each woman and child's needs. This year's check to Shepherd's Door will be $80,000, bringing the total of Don Rasmussen Company's gifts to more than $700,000 since 2001. Employees also volunteer on a regular basis, including weekly visits to read books in the Rasmussen Library for the children who live at Shepherd's Door.

"It is important for us to show our neighbors and customers that we appreciate their business by supporting local causes that are important to them," says Rasmussen. "We care about this community and believe that great things can happen when people work together toward a common goal."
