Director of Ministry

The Director of Ministry will oversee all aspects of direct ministry to the homeless and addicted by Portland Rescue Mission (PRM).  Direct reports include the managers of Outreach Ministry, Men’s New Life Ministry, Shepherd’s Door (includes Women’s New Life Ministry and Children’s Center Ministry), and Vocational Ministry.  There are approximately 56 staff serving in these ministry departments.  The Director of Ministry will serve on the PRM Executive Leadership Team led by the Executive Director and including the COO, Director of Partnership and Director of Development.

Manager of Men's New Life Ministry

The Manager of Men’s New Life Ministry is responsible for leading the Men’s New Life Ministry which is housed at the Burnside facility in Oldtown and the Next Step facility in NE Portland and has a staff of approximately 13.  This ministry serves up to 50 homeless and addicted men.  The program length is approximately one year and the primary emphases are addictions recovery, spiritual formation and life skills development which includes financial, legal, health, vocational, and educational training.

Manager of Shepherd's Door

The Manager of Shepherd’s Door is responsible for leading the women’s New Life ministry and the Children’s Center, both of which are housed at the Shepherd’s Door facility, have a staff of approximately 30, and comprise a budget of approximately $1M.  These ministries serve homeless and addicted women (capacity of 40) and their children (capacity of 45).  The program length is approximately one year and the primary emphases are addictions recovery, spiritual formation and life skills development which includes financial, legal, health, vocational, educational and parenting training.

Men's Ministry Part-Time Night Manager

Responsible for the safety of the facility, for those in residence and those receiving emergency services, including overnight shelter. The shift worker will report to his assigned team overseer, either the vocational team, the educational team, or the chaplaincy team.

Women's Life Skills Manager

The Life Skills Manager is responsible for advancing the New Life ministry for women in recovery through training and managing staff and volunteers in the delivery of life skills development to all residents at Shepherd’s Door (SD) which has a capacity for 40 women plus their children.  This role will also have direct operational oversight of the SD kitchen operation and the general upkeep of the SD facility, vehicles & grounds.

Customer Service Representative - Car Sales and Donations

The Drive Away Hunger Customer Service Representative will support the ministry of Portland Rescue Mission by providing outstanding service to customers either buying or donating a vehicle to the program. This person will provide administrative support through processing the necessary paperwork and will also be key in interacting with the public and answering questions and providing information.
