Portland Rescue Mission short-term Mission Team Experiences are designed for local or out-of-town youth and young adult teams who desire to understand homelessness, serve homeless people, and support ministry to homeless men, women and children.
We offer two experiences customized to your group and your time frame.
Weekend (3-4 Day)
The focus of the Weekend Experience is hands-on service to homeless people living on the street and work projects supporting Portland Rescue Mission facilities. Groups will learn the basics of homelessness and how to help homeless people.
Cost: $100-$140
Cost includes staffing, service project resources, team meals and lodging.
Lodging availability depends on the size, age and specific needs of your group.
Ages: Junior High and up
Weekday (5-6 Day)
The focus of the trip is hands-on service to homeless people, ministry to men, women and children in recovery and work projects supporting Portland Rescue Mission facilities. Groups will gain an in-depth understanding of homelessness, ministry to homeless men and women in Portland and the recovery process.
Cost: $160-$200
Cost includes staffing, service project resources, team meals and lodging.
Lodging availability depends on the size, age and specific needs of your group.
Ages: High School age and up
