FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. What can I donate?
We accept most vehicles and vessels including (but not limited to) cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RV´s.

2. Is my donation tax deductible?
Vehicle/vessel donations to Portland Rescue Mission are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Individual tax situations vary, so please check with a tax professional to determine what, if any, tax benefit you may receive.

3. What do I need to donate my vehicle?
We would like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made.

4. My car isn't running. Can I still donate it?
Yes, we are able to accept most vehicles, running or not (exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing). To find out if we can accept your vehicle, please contact us.

5. How much of my car´s value will I be able to deduct?
Our mechanics materially improve most donated vehicles. Your valuation is based on the sale price or you can opt to take an immediate $500 valuation for tax purposes.

6. How will the car be picked up?
We offer free towing. In almost every case, we will arrange to have your donated vehicle transported at our expense, by our people  Contact us to schedule a pick-up time.
