Parrish couldn't control his urge for drugs. He simply had no self-control.

Broken and alone, Parrish reached out for help at Portland Rescue Mission.  First a meal.  Then a coat.  Sometimes an overnight bed.  Eventually, he joined the recovery program.

Over a year later, Parrish has graduated and is deeply changed.  The hardened shell is gone, replaced by a grateful, warm smile.  He's truly a new man.
